Israeli company GenCell Energy has been selected as one of 15 startups to join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0. The program is designed to facilitate collaborations with mature startups developing breakthrough clean energy technologies. GenCell Energy develops ecofriendly power solutions based on zero-emission alkaline fuel cells and green ammonia-to-energy technology.
The Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0 will provide 12 weeks of virtual and in-person programming, with industry and thought leaders mentoring startups and energy organizations to help them address clean energy and decarbonization challenges. AWS will provide guidance in accelerating experimentation, expanding automation, and delivering deep insights by leveraging the cloud.
Rami Reshef, cofounder and CEO of GenCell Energy, said that the company’s participation in the program “can help define and shape the future of clean energy innovation.” GenCell Energy delivers weather-resistant backup power for utilities, telecom, EV charging and other applications in 22 countries. Its hydrogen-on-demand solution provides primary power for off-grid and poor-grid sites, as well as for rural electrification.
The Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0 will culminate with the Innovation Showcase at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28) in Dubai in November. Howard Gefen, General Manager of Energy and Utilities, AWS, said, “We’re pleased to welcome GenCell Energy into the Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0, and work together to take on one of the greatest challenges of our generation.
In conclusion, GenCell Energy’s selection for the AWS Clean Energy Accelerator 3.0 is a significant step towards the development and implementation of sustainable power solutions. The program will provide GenCell Energy with the necessary support and guidance to address clean energy and decarbonization challenges. With its zero-emission alkaline fuel cells and green ammonia-to-energy technology, GenCell Energy is well-positioned to play a key role in defining and shaping the future of clean energy innovation. The company’s participation in the program, culminating with the Innovation Showcase at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, demonstrates its commitment to a sustainable future.
